La magie a commencé à opérer!!

Une grande médecine !
Il faut l'écouter, puis revenir en arrière pour être bien sûr des images que l'on à aperçu, revoir "Itinéraire d'un enfant gâté" ré-entendre la folie de Nino Ferrer (laissez nous respirer), se souvenir de ce qui nous révoltait en 70 et qui nous "tsunamise" aujourd'hui (la chaleur, la lumière), avoir un peu froid au fur et à mesure que les mots de Mary nous racontent ce qu'il s'est passé derrière les volets de la maison des Johnson, se souvenir de Patsy Cline. Cette vague faite de vos mots, de votre poésie, de cette vraie musique, fait de ce CD une création musicale à part, sans aucun doute votre meilleur CD .
Lui souhaiter du succès serait encore avoir un doute, alors courez acheter cette potion musicale qui fera repousser vos révoltes et vos envies.

We like the record very much. We don´t understand anything of the lyrics but I think It doesn´t matter.  I think one of the best songs is  " La maison des Johnson" it has got a fantastic melody. Of cause the singer makes it a really hit. I hope this record will be played in the French Radios.

on écoute, on réécoute, on va au concert, on réécoute après le concert, on re découvre à chaque fois ici et là une parole, une idée , tout plein de petits signes qui nous emmènent dans un monde tantôt de rêve , tantôt d'humour, de réflexion aussi ....

Saturday january 28th, at Les 4 saisons, Saint Martin en Haut in the mountains near Lyon.

In this pretty village, Jean-Luc spent the summer holidays of his youth. It's there he heard for the first time "Honky Tonk Woman". That's also the place he wrote his firsts songs.

Here are some pics of this friendly and nostalgic concert. Jean-Luc met some old friends, and since winter was outside, we were inside eating some choucroute and playins some appalachian ballads. Thanks Tom, the cooker, and all the staff.

Samples, Mary-Lou and Lonesome Day !

For several years, we have been working with Lonesome Day on folk and traditional country songs that we like to play beside the usual Mary-Lou trio songs (french original songs) and Hoboes (Appalachian music, folk et country blues as a duet). We play american songs we love in this 5 musicians new concept.

The contribution of Jean-Paul Raffin and Marion Thébault is great. With the Mary-Lou trio, violon, washboard, guitares, piano, they bring mandoline, dobro, lap steel, harmonica, guitar, allowing us to have on stage all the instruments of the folk and americana music (except banjo banjo).

We play songs of the songwriters and musicians we love : Johnny Cash, Dan Fogelberg, Johnny Lee, Bob Wills, Ricky Skaggs, Lee Hazelwood and many more. We were in our studio these last weeks to record 4 titles to convince the organizers, the festivals and the associations. Here are these 4 samples. Maybe one day they'll be on a record, we'll see.

Before that, we'll record a new Mary-Lou cd, but that's another story.

The Stray Birds in the Mary-Lou studio

The Stray Birds played in our studio sunday 2011/09/04, on their way back from England to Pensylvania. A small house concert friendly and great music. Maya and Oliver are very fine musicians, and kind people. They stayed one day with us in Brittany and left for two days in Paris before flying back.
